About me.
My name is Lara Johnson. After the 2024 election results I was angry. Trump was president, again, and I didn’t know what to do. I went on a mass call the next night online and learned that I could do something. I signed up to hold a post-election meeting in my community, and from that began a group that meets every other week. It’s the first time I’ve done anything resembling “activism” and it turns out it was one of the best things I’ve ever done.
About Worth Fighting For
Worth Fighting For is a local Indivisible group. Our goal is to organize people to learn more about what is going on in our country under the current administration and take action when possible. We have done so by calling and emailing our legislators, given testimony for or against bills brought forward by our state and federal government, participating in postcard and letter writing campaigns, and protesting regularly. On April 5 we took a busload of people to the Hands Off! protest in Hartford at the capitol, where many other members also attended. Members also protested in other cities across the state.
The Indivisible movement is a progressive grassroots movement of millions of activists across every state, fueled by a partnership between thousands of autonomous local Indivisible groups and a national staff. It was started in response to the 2016 election and has grown exponentially since November, 2024.
